Work Teams Photoshoots For Your Business

Something I’ve learned as a commercial photographer in Melbourne is that nothing showcases a business like sharp, professional photography. Melbourne is (maybe you’ve noticed) a big place, with many great businesses. To stand out you need images that send a quick, clear message about who you are. That’s why I offer work teams photoshoots for businesses like yours!

What Is A Work Teams Photoshoot?

A work teams photoshoot is a visual deep dive into your business! My camera and I will come into your working world and capture behind-the-scenes images like:

  • Individual headshots of your fabulous staff

  • People using your products

  • Photos showcasing your workspace

  • Photos showcasing communication between members of your team and with clients

  • Photos of your workplace in action – these images can be staged or candid!

Here’s What You Can Expect For A Work Teams Photoshoot

20-Minute Zoom Call Planning Meeting

Photoshoots for businesses take many forms. Teamwork photoshoots for businesses are not one-size-fits-all! That’s why, before photo day, we’ll meet over Zoom and make a plan for a customised shot list that fits your unique style. In addition to these “must have” shots, we’ll probably also have room to freestyle a little and capture those impromptu moments of inspiration.

Two-Hour On-Location Coverage

On the day of the shoot, I’ll come to your workspace, camera in tow and start capturing your team in action. I can provide photographic lighting and a headshot backdrop and set them up on location.

50 Retouched Images

After the shoot, you’ll be able to select 50 of your favourite images from a private, password-protected gallery. The photos will feature image licenses for your business marketing needs, and they’ll be ready for immediate use, in both high- and low-res JPEG files. Additional hours and images will also be available upon request!

An Incredible Experience

With my corporate teamwork photoshoots, my goal is to make your team feel relaxed and have a good time, resulting in dynamic photos that best represent your business. Here’s what Tani Gray of You Got This Fitness had to say of our successful photoshoot together:

“I chose Gemma Carr Photography to help me with branding photography for my new Fitness Studio – and what an excellent choice it was!

Gemma was amazing. I felt completely at ease with her, even though I really dislike having my photo taken.

The photos are fantastic.

Gemma really understood how I wanted to portray my business and she delivered beyond my expectations." – Tani Gray, You Got This Fitness

Tani isn’t the only client I’ve worked with who’s been thrilled with the results of my work teams photoshoots. Here’s what Tim Walker of TCon Builders had to say about the photoshoot I did for his business:

"Gemma was an absolute delight! She made everyone smile and knew how to gather 15 of us and show us all such a great time. It's hard to make people crack a smile sometimes, but she didn't even need to ask ... It just comes naturally.

She's the best and won't let you down! Thanks again Gemma, TCON will be able to show off our family to the world and we can't wait!" – Tim Walker, TCon Builders

As Tani and Tim were kind enough to notice, creating a relaxed and natural atmosphere is one of my specialities. I love working with people to help them tell the story of their business!

What’s The Best Location For A Work Teams Photoshoot? Whichever Location Works Best For You!

Typically, work teams photoshoots happen in your workspace, but if you’d prefer an alternate location or your team works remotely, we can look into hiring a studio or co-working space. I even have a few places in mind already! When it comes to small business photography, Melbourne is an amazing location: it offers tons of places to showcase small to medium sized businesses! In the world of professional photography, Melbourne offers unlimited flexibility!

Getting Camera-Ready: How To Prepare For A Work Teams Photoshoot

First, make sure your team has plenty of notice that photo day is coming so they can have time to coordinate their hair cuts, have a fresh shave and show up looking their best. Prior to your photoshoot, I will send through some information for your team on what to wear and what to expect.

Oh, and one last thing: it never hurts to make a list of all the people you’re planning on having photographed so I can check them off as we go. We don’t want anyone accidentally left out!

How Should Our Team Pose For A Photoshoot? You Can Be Flexible!

Corporate teamwork photoshoots don’t have to be stuffy affairs! With my camera and your team’s unique personalities, we’ll easily transcend those stereotypically stuffy images that people often imagine when they hear the words “corporate photography.” Melbourne is a one-of-a-kind place with one-of-a-kind people, so we’ll create dynamic photos that show what makes your business unique.

This will be done in the style and look of your photos (light or dark), the mood you wish to convey (think serious or playful), the location (indoors or outside, at your office or in a studio), wardrobe choices (loud and individual, or everyone wearing solid blocks of colour) and last but not least, gentle posing direction from me.

Getting Ready For Your Close-Up: What To Know About Headshots

Headshots are great for introducing your team members. If you don’t need headshots, we can skip them and go straight to the action shots! However, if you do want headshots, here’s what to know:

  • Headshots take about 5 to 10 minutes per person.

  • Once I’ve set up the lights and backdrop, we can start right away!

  • Wardrobe depends on the look that best fits your business. However, I’d recommend choosing clothing with solid blocks of colour, and avoiding clothing with text or overly busy prints. After all, the focus of these headshots should be your fabulous faces!

  • If we are shooting at your place of work and I am setting up lights and backdrop, we need a nice clear space. As some people get camera shy, it can be a good idea to choose a quieter space where each person can relax and enjoy being photographed without lots of distractions and onlookers.

  • Another option is to utilise an outdoor area near your office space where we can photograph everyone. This can work really well and mean it’s very easy to then add extra photoshoots for when new staff members join your team. See the example below where we stepped outside in the CBD street to utilise the green and beige scene right near the doorstep. This provides a fresh and on-brand style to your staff headshots.
